Patient Participation Groups work closely with the Practice, and have an important role in allowing patients to let the Practice know what matters most to the patient population, what is working well and in some cases not so well, and in trying to help resolve any problems.
In effect, the PPG is a “Critical Friend”, to the Practice, promoting better understanding of what the patients may be thinking or saying about issues, whilst also helping to improve communication with patients by providing a newsletter with information linked to current health issues or how to access new services.
The Oakey Health Group PPG meets every six weeks and consists of representatives from all three sites: Hartley Corner, Monteagle and Yateley Medical Centre.
Patient Participation Groups can become involved in such things as Patient Surveys, Fundraising Events, Health Events, contributing to Practice decision making and generally improving communication between patients and practice.
It is not, however, a forum for complaints, which should always be directed to the Patient Services Manager
If you would like to be involved in helping improve the services provided and wouldn’t mind answering some questions from time to time, on matters such as what you think of the opening times, or the quality of the care or service you received, you could become a member of this group. The Practice would contact you via email from time to time; the surveys would be short and to the point and wouldn’t take up too much of your time. Currently we have 530 patients signed up.
If you are happy for us to contact you occasionally by email please click the link below to open the sign-up form and complete all the fields.

If you prefer, you can download the sign up form as a pdf document, print it out, complete it and return it to the practice.

We will continue as before, meeting regularly with representatives of the practice staff to agree our future goals and how we, as patients, can help focus on continually improving the services for all Oakley Health Group patients where possible.
To ensure that we are an effective group however, it is very important that we know what you, our fellow patients, think is important for the practice both now and in the future. For example, what is being done well, what could be done differently, what you would like introduced if possible, and any other constructive ideas?
All surgeries have PPG Notice Boards in the Waiting Rooms which will be updated continuously and there are also Patient Feedback Forms available
We will be happy to address any concerns/positive suggestions you have as we go along. We produce a regular newsletter, with a Quarterly Topic of Interest, and would welcome your ideas of what you would find interesting and informative in it.
If you would like any further information please feel free to contact us via our email addresses above or through Karen Toms at the surgery, or by using our Feedback forms (available on our notice board, or please complete the Contact Us form on this webite).
